Trailer Retrofit Kits

MODIFIES YOUR TRAILER SUSPENSION TO ACCOMMODATE SHOCKS

For trailers that have either a leaf spring suspension or a torsion axle suspension, Monroe manufactures the Retrofit Kit.

Adding Monroe RV shocks reduces the bounce and wander of your trailer for improved towing capacity. Monroe RV shocks also reduce the surge caused by trailer motion feedback to the tow vehicle, for a smoother, more comfortable ride. Recommended for use with Monroe RV shock absorbers for a softer, more controlled ride.

Easily installed without welding or special tools, this do-it-yourself kit enables modification of your trailer suspension to accommodate Monroe RV shock absorbers.

 

 

 

 

Easy Installation:

1. Determine the frame type  Towing Frame

 

 

2. Determine the diameter of your axle (leaf springs) Determine specific GVW rating of your trailer suspension (torsion axle)

3. Based on the axle diameter/GVW rating from step 2, locate the correct retrofit kit from the corresponding chart below

4. Determine the location of the upper mounting. Measure the distance between the upper and lower mountings. Based on the centerline dimension at the vehicle static height. Dimension should be taken with trailer on level surface.

5. Using the measurement from step 4, select the appropriate Magnum RV shock absorber from the third chart below.
